Jean Carla Rodea, Miriam Parker and Jo Wood-Brown present their video and sound installation Lost Voyage/Dwelling. There will be performances from Jean Carla Rodea, Rebeca Medina and Miriam Parker.
Lost Voyage/Dwelling builds upon a 7-week residency led by multi-media artists Miriam Parker and Jo Wood-Brown at FiveMyles in 2020. Four female artists from different backgrounds come together again in 2021 to revisit and build upon the contemplation of what is freedom and what is home.
The event will be open to the public Saturday and Sunday, November 20 and 21, with gallery hours from 1-6pm.
Performances will take place Saturday evening, 6:30-7:30pm and Sunday at 1:30-2:30pm, 4:30-5:30pm and 7:30-8:30pm.
The sound installation Dwelling; Cobalt Mirror Image was supported by New Music USA’s Creator Development Fund with major support from Howard Gilman Foundation, The Amphion Foundation, Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, Sony Music Group, Cheswatyr Foundation, The ASCAP Foundation, and BMI Foundation. The work is also made possible through donations to the New Music USA Endowment.
