TOGETHER – with Poets and Musicians on a Sunday Afternoon
Enjoy the surprise and delight of poetry, music and art in a relaxed salon atmosphere.
Felice Belle’s debut collection Viscera is poetry for people who think they hate poetry—quirky, accessible and pop-culture obsessed. As a poet and playwright, she has performed at the Apollo Theater, Joe’s Pub, and TEDWomen. She’s the Director of Narrative 4’s Artists Network and spends her free time solving fictional crimes.
Kate Gardner tells tales of odd romance and unlikely adventure. Her work has appeared in Acting Together, S/He Speaks, Wings of Wonder, and at the Brooklyn Public Library. Founder of the Community Theatre Internationale, she spearheaded BrooKenya!, an intercontinental grassroots soap opera with residents of New York City and Kisumu, Kenya.
The Aaron Irwin Trio has received critical praise for its seamless blend of jazz, folk, and improvised music influences, as well as its evocative storytelling through music. Aaron Irwin is a highly acclaimed jazz saxophonist, clarinetist and composer based in New York City. Irwin’s skilled improvisations on saxophone and clarinet are complemented by the exceptional musicianship of his ensemble, guitarist Olli Hirvonen and drummer Bill Campbell.
Juvenile rights attorney/poet Travis Montez is the author of nine collections of poetry. His latest work, Peaches Honey Whiskey, is available now. He also hosts the Objects In This Rearview podcast, available on all platforms.
Katie Ann Turner is a poet and songwriter from Austin, Texas currently living in Brooklyn. A storyteller at heart, Turner explores themes of queer identity and love while reconciling with their religious upbringing. A former pastor’s kid, Turner still looks for God every day, and they keep finding Her in music, poetry, and their community.
