Film Screening and Panel Discussion

  • FiveMyles 558 St Johns Place Crown Heights, Brooklyn USA (map)

friday, July 7, 6:30-8pm:

Hima B. presents a work in progress screening of a documentary about Nyree, a gun violence survivor who is coming to terms with her gun-inflicted disability.

Nyree was accidentally shot by a friend over 10 years ago and instantly became disabled.  When her friend is released from prison, it prompts Nyree to reach out to her for some closure. The film addresses how Nyree is coming to terms with her dependence on others for the care she requires to live a full life.
Stay for the panel discussion with Nyree, the filmmaker, & local anti-gun violence community organizations.
