Pat Nurse presents an installation of her hand-made larger-than-life carnival costumes.
The exhibit’s central costume, MASQUARADE, is mostly black, white, orange and gold. It stands ten feet wide and twelve feet high. This costume represents the Halloween character that tells the story of all the characters in the MAS, PAN and CALYPSO festival.
Pat has been a costume designer and producer of her children’s band, Carican Costumes, for the past twenty years. She produces costumes from New York to many states including Miami Carnival and also Trinidad. for the MAS, PAN and CALYPSO carnival festivals. Pat Nurse an author of three books and she teaches English at Medgar Evers College.
