John Valembrun

This exhibition presents new work by young, self-taught artist John Valembrun, whose interest in finding ways of transforming and representing language, as well as his search to balance negative space and color are palpable across the different media he uses in his work. His visual vocabulary includes the representation of human faces within or around abstract, colorful structures, as well as truncated words, often spelled backwards or up-side-down. His work invites the viewer not only to observe but also to decipher.
