songs from a tall room
Jessica weinstein with anonymous ensemble
In a tall room with tall windows, a ten foot tall singer named Ellipsa (Jessica Weinstein) sings songs, tells stories, and reflects on the present moment. A performance installation and concert, Songs From a Tall Room begins as an intimate songwriter set, and finally joyously spills out onto the street, embracing wherever the city is in the late summer of 2021.
Founded in Brooklyn in 2001, Anonymous Ensemble creates new performances, experimental media, and unique theatrical events. They create new shows every year, presenting live performances throughout NYC and the U.S. as well as internationally. Their most recent episodic live-streaming project, Flight, brought together performers and audiences on five continents in order to investigate expansive global issues and tiny revelatory moments in real time. Anonymous Ensemble values creating community wherever we are and giving voice and agency to their audiences and collaborators in their explorations of the human condition, their collective storytelling, and the limitless possibilities of imagination.
